Does it mean goodbye to the movies?

Annual attendance, measured by ticket sales, has dropped from $4.68 billion in 1948 to $1.54 billion in 2004, even though the American population nearly doubled during this time period. Americans are now going to movies less than one-sixth as many times per capita as they did in 1948.
