Giant Spider Invades Liverpool

A giant mechanical spider sits on the side of the derelict Concourse tower in Liverpool city centre on 3 September, 2008, Liverpool, England . It was like a scene from Godzilla Invades England as thousands ran screaming from a giant man-eating spider that had taken up residence in the city. Abandoned children lay crying in the streets, and it’s still unclear how many residents were killed.

But a huge spider did begin its stay in Liverpool yesterday, only it’s mechanical, and doesn’t eat people. Yet. The massive, 50 foot tall robotic spider, currently hanging from the side of a building, has been commissioned for the city’s European Capital of Culture year.
